Hannah Scruton joined Badesch Abramovitch as a junior associate in 2017. Hannah has been licensed to practice in Illinois since 2015, and practiced family law for a small general practice firm in Chicago before joining Badesch Abramovitch.

Hannah earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and her B.A. in English and Political Science from Austin Peay State University. She was a Center for Public Interest Law Honors Scholar, and served as President of the Public Interest Law Association. She found a passion for family law while in law school, and interned for the Office of the Public Guardian and DePaul’s Family Law Clinic. During these internships she worked on cases involving contested child custody cases, as well as divorce and orders of protection. She also gained hands-on experience as a volunteer with the Center for Disability and Elder Law Help Desk and Domestic Violence Legal Clinic, and was awarded the DePaul College of Law Senior Service Award for her volunteer work.

Hannah currently serves on the Young Professionals Board for the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic, and is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and Chicago Bar Association. She also volunteers with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and the Family Defense Center.
